Korean is not always spoken the way it is written. Final consonants slide into the next syllable (음악을 sounds like [으마글]), and sounds change next to each other (국물 sounds like [궁물]). Listening alone lets you guess; writing it down makes you notice.한국어는 쓰는 대로 소리 나지 않을 때가 많습니다. 받침이 다음 음절로 넘어가고(음악을 → [으마글]), 이웃한 소리끼리 바뀝니다(국물 → [궁물]). 듣기만 하면 짐작으로 넘어가지만, 받아 적으면 그 차이를 알아차리게 됩니다.
Spacing (띄어쓰기) is another common stumbling block. Hangul Dictation tells you when only the spacing is off, so you learn where one word ends and the next begins.띄어쓰기도 자주 막히는 부분입니다. 한글 받아쓰기는 띄어쓰기만 틀렸을 때 따로 알려 주어, 어디서 어절이 끝나고 시작되는지 익힐 수 있습니다.

How are my answers checked?답은 어떻게 채점되나요?
Your answer is compared word by word. Correct words turn green, words that are one letter off turn orange, and if only the spacing is different the sentence still counts as solved.어절 단위로 비교합니다. 맞은 어절은 초록색, 한 글자 정도 다른 어절은 주황색으로 표시되고, 띄어쓰기만 다르면 정답으로 인정합니다.
