십 년 후의 나에게 이 편지를 쓴다.

I'm writing this letter to myself, ten years from now.

지금 나는 낯선 나라에서 새로운 언어를 배우고 있다.

Right now, I'm learning a new language in an unfamiliar country.

말이 통하지 않아 답답할 때도 많지만 포기하고 싶지는 않다.

I often feel frustrated when I can't make myself understood, but I don't want to give up.

처음 혼자 주문에 성공했던 날을 아직도 기억한다.

I still remember the day I first ordered food on my own.

그때 느꼈던 작은 자신감이 지금의 나를 버티게 해 준다.

The small confidence I felt then is what keeps me going now.

네가 이 편지를 읽을 때쯤에는 한국어가 훨씬 편해졌기를 바란다.

I hope that by the time you read this, Korean feels much easier.

혹시 아직도 어렵다면 너무 실망하지 마.

If it's still hard, don't be too disappointed.

언어는 결과보다 과정에서 더 많은 것을 가르쳐 주니까.

After all, a language teaches you more through the journey than the destination.

추신. 요즘 나는 매일 아침 한 시간씩 단어를 외운다.

P.S. These days I memorize vocabulary for an hour every morning.

드라마를 자막 없이 보는 것이 나의 작은 목표다.

My small goal is to watch dramas without subtitles.

지금은 겨우 몇 문장만 알아듣지만 언젠가는 다 이해할 수 있을 것이다.

Right now I only catch a few sentences, but someday I'll understand it all.

이곳에서 만난 친구들 덕분에 외롭지 않다.

Thanks to the friends I've made here, I'm not lonely.
